The Board of Directors for the Papillion Community Foundation is comprised of individuals who live or work in the community.
Laura L. SchwartzExecutive Director
Laura Schwartz started with the Papillion Community Foundation in July of 2017. Schwartz comes to the Foundation with over 26 years of experience in wellness, customer experience and philanthropy. She is a passionate community advocate and has been a resident of Papillion for 19 years. Her corporate experience includes roles at Hewlett Packard Corporation, Prairie Life Fitness and Papillion LaVista Community Schools. Her duties included wellness development, project management, program planning, policy compliance and process development, event planning and fundraising. As a military wife for over 28 years she chaired numerous family support groups, Yellow Ribbon Events, and completed Family Readiness Group certification that focused on budgetary management and ethics.
In her new role, Mrs. Schwartz will be responsible for implementing the policies and directives of the Board of Directors and overall growth strategies of the Foundation. She will concentrate on monitoring and increasing the Foundation’s Assets. She will also work closely with the City of Papillion, donors, other nonprofit organizations, corporate leaders as well as engaged citizens to continue to strengthen Papillion through creative philanthropy, vision and leadership. “It will absolutely be my honor to work with the Foundation’s Board, donors, and community partners to continue to make Papillion one of the best small cities in America” comments Mrs. Schwartz “and I am very excited about this opportunity to serve the community of Papillion.”
Laura and her husband of 29 years Gerry, have two sons. When she is not working at the Foundation Mrs. Schwartz enjoys time spent being active with her family, cooking and DIY projects.
Margaret WhiteBoard President
Margaret is active in the Papillion Community and she owns and operates Papio Fun Park. She is also involved with Sarpy County Chamber of Commerce Gold Ambassador; Ralston Area Chamber of Commerce, Board Member; Omaha Executives Association, Board Member; St Columbkille Church – Music Ministry; Papillion LaVista Community Schools BEST partner; Sarpy County Tourism Committee
Curtis RaingeVice President
Curtis is a Community Service Manager with the Sarpy County Sherriff's Office, he is retired from the USAF. He is also involved in Past President Papillion Area Lions Club; Heartland Family Services of Sarpy County Advisory Committee Member; Foster Grandparent Program of Eastern Nebraska Member; Papillion La-Vista Optimist Club Member; Tri-City Food Pantry Board Member; Papillion LaVista Schools Foundation – Board Member; Nebraska Citizen Corp; Echoes Softball Association, Vice-President.
Peggy is recently retired after 33 years with SACFCU. She is also involved in – Sarpy County Relay for Life – Chair; Papillion Junior Women’s Club member.
Executive Board Member at LargeLori is a Regional Wellbeing & Engagement Consultant with Arthur J Gallagher & Company. She is also involved in the National Association of Professional Women; Metro Omaha Tobacco Action Coalition Board Member; Young Professionals Connect Board Member Sarpy County Chamber of Commerce; Patriot Elementary PTO; WELCOA Top 25 Health Promotion Professionals 2017.
Lowell Fergusonserves as the Assistant Vice President, Pinnacle Bank. He is actively involved in Sarpy County Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors Past Chair, Sarpy County Chamber Young Professionals member, Lions Club Papillion board member, Papillion La Vista Schools Foundation Golf committee member, Teammates Mentoring Program member, and Habitat for Humanity yearly volunteer
William J. Biancoowner of Bianco Stroh, LLC. He is also an adjunct Professor at Creighton University; Presidential Appointee to the 1995 White House Conference on Small Business; Sarpy County Bar Association; YMCA Sarpy County Branch; Board of Managers; Member, Nebraska Diplomats, a Nebraska non-profit economic development corporation.
Joyce Stanglenis retired and is active in Papillion Junior Women’s Club; Papillion Garden Club; Member of the Foster Care Review Board; Douglas-Sarpy Extension; Master Gardener.
Mark VanderheidenOwner/Office Manager of Gina V Physical Therapy. He is a Member of the Downtown Papillion Business Association; American Legion Post 32 member; Papillion Area Lions Club member; Papillion LaVista Schools Foundation Committee Chair; Jr Titan Football Board Member.
Travis Davidis branch Manager of Great Western Bank in Papillion. He is active in Habitat for Humanity.
Mike Rukstalis, DVMis the owner of Papillion Animal Hospital. He is active in the following organizations Board of Directors for the Nebraska Academy of Veterinary Medicine; Nebraska Veterinary Medical Association member; American Veterinary Medical Association member; Sarpy County Chamber of Commerce.
